Churaumi Aquarium

Up on the north part of the island in Nago there is the ocean expo park. You can go to the aquarium, culture center, the replica village of way back when, and the tropical dream center all in one day! So. I'll start with the aquarium. The very first thing you get to do when you go in is hold the starfish and touch the furry sea cucumbers. Very cool. Then there is a string of medium to small tanks with every kind of fish crustacean, and even seahorses. My favorite in the little tanks are the little worm things that pop out of the sand. They are a type of eel I believe and they're just little guys but so cute! After all the smaller tanks you come to the sharks. They have I think 3 different types, among them the tiger shark. The sharks are okay but kind of boring compared to the absolutely gigantic tank. In this tank they have three whales, a few sharks, giant manta rays, and tons of large and small fish. Coolest tank ever! The whales are actually whale sharks so they aren't gigantic but still pretty big and I've never seen such large manta rays! The next best thing is when you get outside. There is a manatee tank and then the sea turtles! These guys are awesome and the babies are so little! The last part of the aquarium is the dolphin show. These dolphins are so smart, they clap and wave and dance in circles too. They can jump uber high and spin hula hoops on their noses. This is definitely something to see in Okinawa!
